Intermajikal, the "Mad World" cover is sung by one of the musicians who scored the film, his name escapes me at the moment. I thought he sounded a lot like Stipe, too. But, the DVD has all of this info and a video for the cover to boot. Get the DVD, it's worth the ten bones I paid for it at Circuit City. And no, I don't work there. Peace.

Michael Andrews did the music for the song and soundtrack; Gary Jules sang the song. Beautiful, isn't it? Anyways, fun real player movie on this website, set to this "Mad World" version. Worth a look. It all started when domokun met this rabbit... Domo Darko Music Video (Realplayer version) www.fnord.myby.co.uk/Scroll halfway down the page to see it.

my personal favorite on the soundtrack would have to be "Killing Moon," by Echo and the Bunnymen, or "Under the Milkyway Tonight," by the church.

Buyers of the music score should beware that it is not comprised of the 80's pop songs that many people buy looking for (the ones in the list I mentioned above).
The cd - almost in it's entirety - is filled with the ambient/moody/lyricless "orchestration", by Michael Andrews, if memory serves me right, with exception for the last track, "Mad World", which apparently has two versions (or more): an earlier (and plainer) version by Gary Jules, and the one tweaked by Michael Andrews, with the addition of slight bass and drum lines, as well as what appears to be a clearer quality of sound.
Many people buy the score expecting to get the 80's pop songs, and alas, get disappointed. So, you've been warned.
My personal opinion on the score, is that it is kinda weak an uninteresting, but YMMV.

Have hust heard gary jules (the guy that sings "mad world") interviewed on uk radio 1. He didnt really say much. Apparently the vocal was recorded in half an hour. Its being released in the uk just before christmas and apparently has an out side chance of being xmas number 1. Xmas number 1 is always a really big thing over here, everyone always remembers the xmas number 1 (its usually cliff richard)!!

of the movie is the part during which "Under the Milky Way" is played. The song just fits so perfectly with the moment and I'm a sap for romance and it just made me happy to see Donnie truly happy for once. That song is one of the best I have ever heard
