If you have something of value to add (which you did) it would get responces... Posting it numerous times, in threads that aren't really discussing what you posted, is going to have the opposite effect, and make people not want to respond to you...
I am asking one more time, please keep the original post that was responded to, and delete the others... There is no need to have the same discussion in 5 different threads...

I don't think I have the option to delete since I'm not a member. I'm sure a moderator will clean up after me.
And let's be honest. Every thread on this board is about the same thing: What the hell happened in the movie.

sweetie.
if you've been reading around, you will have noticed WE DON'T HAVE A FUCKING MODERATOR.
it's up to US to keep this place clean, and it's very important to me so yeah, it has severely pissed me off that you have thrown this post around when we update EVERYDAY and this was the FIRST post i responded to.
and not EVERY board or thread is about what happened IN the movie.
PLEASE try to be respectful of the community WE have built WITHOUT you, and we will be respectful of you.
you come off as quite pompous and ignorant of anyone else but yourself. i highly doubt you will get many if any more responses.

Ah, well blow it out your ass. There's a name listed as a moderator next to each forum.

The moderator is no longer keeping tabs -- or performing cleanup -- on this site. But that's irrelevant; we're all responsible for the site and the community. All of us. Do you regularly go to forums and randomly and redundantly post, trusting the mod to clean up after you? If you do, you've run into the exact same resistance you're encountering here: because you're disrepectful, you are finding the folks here to be unfriendly.
I believe in second chances, so I'll ask kindly: would you please apologize to the people you just insulted and acknowledge that your approach was inappropriate? That way we can get on with what we're here to do, which is to explore things of interest to this community -- including, but not limited to, "what happened in the movie."

This movie is open to interpretation. I to have debated it with fellow viewers of the movie but now i must go back to my normal life... starting with the destruction of my my donnie darko dvd and my dvd player so that i may never enter a world of frustration by watching it again. I hope you's understand.

Kelly actually states several reasons why Donnie doesn't get out of bed... He says he didn't hear Frank honking the horn, or he just was so happy he forgot... I tend to think he made the decision to stay in bed... Yes he could have got out of bed and lived a "normal" life, but he was content with dying... We will never know the real reason, because it doesn't seem like Kelly even knows, you just have to pick what works for you, and go with it... I figured that he was sleepwalking because he was searching for something, understanding or meaning of life, or whatever. Frank didn't actually wake him up the first time, he'd been "watching you" and took the opportunity to make Donnie think he'd saved his life, so Donnie would do what he told him to. So in the end, once he understands everything, he's not searching, he understands now and ius happy. Thus he wasn't sleepwalking; he was in bed and got squished.

Donnie says "I hope that when the world ends, I can breathe a sigh of relief because there will be so much to look forward to." this means that when he dies he wants to believe in God (he struggled with this the whole movie). At the end he realized that there was a God and everything that happened was apart of his plan. He then paradoxically was both destined to be killed by the engined AS WELL AS chose to die. And by the way he litterally breathes a sigh of relief seconds before impact.

In my opinion, no... Donnie did not need to die... Granted there was a "fated" aspect to Donnie's death... If you read TPOTT, it talks about the warrior and knight, mysteriously killed... I believe that Donnie could have gotten out of bed, but he didn't because for once in his life, he was completely happy, he no longer feared dying or being alone, he know was was loved by his family, idolized by Chereta, and was capable of love (gretchen), and was content with god and death... If he got out of bed he may not have ever been able to recreate the feeling he had at that point and time, and as he said in his letter at the end of the movie... "I hope that when the world comes to an end I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to." i totally agree.. couldnt have said it better myself lol des
