Does it matter how long everyone's posts are?

Yeah, it does, in two regards: length and intent. No, long doesn't automatically mean good ... and, no, short doesn't necessarily mean bad. But in the case of someone posting things like, "yeh you got good argumant and I lie it" OVER AND OVER again clearly only trying to increase post count: annoying, inconsiderate and immature. I try to read every post. My time is valuable and meaningful to me. When I post, I'm always thinking at the very least of being considerate of the time of those people already posting in that thread -- and most of the time, I'm trying to contribute something meangingful and as concise as possible for the whole community.
Yes, I'm venting. Yes, those meaningless posts frustrate me. And, yes, this probably seems a lot less important to most people. But it's important to me and, I believe, is something that just isn't very thoughtful regarding the community. So I'm sharing (in an aggravated tone ... sorry.)
So: short and appropriate to the situation, considerate of the discussion, and a meaningful (if even conversational) contribtution to the thread -- fine. "Yeh I tink so to" post -- not fine.

THey wouldn't of put it in the film. richard kelly didnt like shootingt it at all. the producer told him too. personally i don't find that scene cheesy i find it some what shocking. good effect though Drew Berrymore was the executive producer. Was she the one who told him to do it?

(/\ = example of a very short post that's just fine, thank you)
Well, it seems possible, though the tenor of the interviews I've read about her involvement (well, her company's involvement as the production group) made them sound pretty easy going. There were other producers, I'm sure ... maybe a studio head tied to the movie was putting "mainstream movie" pressure on Kelly when the scene was insisted upon.
What other groups involved in a movie's production have influence? Surely not the distribution company, right?

I agree with PP in the length/meaning comment. I mean with his answer because it would have been foolish to answer simply yes or no without looking at an alternative point of view. Of coarse there are also those occasional long posts that are absurd and pointless, but those are in my opinion rare.
I know I am guilty of writting short messeges in order to just increase my count, but I try not to do it repetitive and for all my post to be like those. At least when I joined I was never really thinking about count and levels and gaining and all of that, I was just glad I had finally found a place where I can learn and share my thoughts and points of view. If I ever had a question or possible discussion, I would simple post it in the correct place and wait eagerly for the answers/opinions anybody else had. I also hoped to be able to help any others who had any questions or a doubt that needed to be answered.
