Hmmmm.............
Always nice to see someone who will totally diss one of the finest films ever made, just because the viewer actually has to do a little work themselves to try and figure it out, I have watched DD 7 times so far, and still do not have a concrete conclusion in my mind.
That's what makes the film so amazing in my opinion, it is left open to the viewers interpretation, you can take from it what you want, you can understand it in any way you want, you can draw your own theories and conclusions, and discuss it at length with like-minded people.
I can't EVER remember a film that got me thinking like DD has, I first watched it nearly 2 years ago, and it is still in my mind.
This is my first post here, and I would openly like to thank Richard Kelly for his genius, hard work, and determination in getting Donnie Darko made, I have read the Donnie Darko book, and know how close this film came to never even getting made.
How can anyone shun Donnie Darko? this was Richard Kelly's FIRST MOVIE! he has managed to do on his first attempt, what many directors have not managed after 10 movies, to make a film that draws the audience into it's world completely, that makes you care about the characters, that makes you think about it for a VERY long time afterwards.
Good job Richard, you have made one of my all time favourites, keep up the good work.

I guess for anything that ever exists, there will be those who oppose it, those who rage with anger at the thought of the mere existance of that thing. Be for good or for evil, there will always be those outsiders/hatters who do nothing else but to insolently complain. Maybe it is just part of the human nature to dissagree, argue, fight, resist change, and wage war. I think that the only true way to fight them is to ignore them.

Regarding Donnie's age, on donniedarko.com it says he was born in May 1972 so he was 16.

sorry, but this was one of the worst films I have ever seen. It's a bit like a hormonal 14 year olds attempt at deep and meaningful. It just don't work! Well I may be late in responding, but well couldn't resist it. Hmmm lets see what my response is...... "Mr. Garrison: Okay. Now, let's try to get an answer from someone who's not a complete retard...anyone?" Okay I have already used this but hey its hella funny.

They don't annoy me... I'm not a big fan of them either, but just while they are kept limited and reserved for special occasions only.

This is proof that opinion weighs a lot more than we think it does. I for one think this is the best movie ever for many reasons, I know people who think "The Mist" is a great movie (my least favorite ever) And it's not based on right or wrong, it's based on the individual's mindset. Still, people are right...I mean how low can you stoop to write a bad review on a fansite anyway?
