Alan Silvestri has a way of using traditional instruments and composing delicately comlicated scores, which in turn send chills down your spine. Fuuuuuuuck! He's incredible, I could honestly listen to him all day... in fact, I think I have.

Tough one - Ash's bassist is a girl, and they ROCK. Does that count? I quite liked Alecias Attic too. Quirky. (No idea if they're still around though.

I hear that Rilo Kiley is a great girl band but I have yet to hear them . I know that the lead singer is the one who does the awesome harmony for Death Cab and The Postal Service. Not a girl band but I really think you would like Dar Williams. Get: The Babysitter's Here or When I Was a Boy or The Christians and the Pagans...( a wonderful holiday song)
Frankismyhero: I love Death Cab...my favorite song on Plans (if I haven't mentioned it before) is Brothers on a Hotel Bed. Great lyrics! I saw Girlyman the last time I saw Dar Williams. Two lesbians and a gay boy and they had the best harmony I have ever heard. I can't say I loved them because I pay attention to lyrics and didn't have time to check them out. If I don't like the lyrics I usually don't like the band. I have been listening to Brandi Carlile and Annie Lennox, the Medusa CD mostly. I guess it's time to put my Charlie Browne Christmas album away...Vince Gauraldi is awesome!

All I've been playing lately. His new album drops in a couple of weeks which I'm excited about as it's been nearly 3 years since the above came out. "Until I see the price of happiness your deserve is cheap/ As long as you embed these words deep/ And can cinematically see the world from a worm's eye view from a bird's beak/ Life occurs blurred bleak/ Sometimes but regardless of how sour the Kool-Aid is though it could stil be stirred sweet" Prov playing Peaches is interesting though lol.

Dude, you gotta send me a copy of the above. I'm finding myself enjoying a lot of underground rap.
