Is the fact that i dont consider martyrs to be a horror an indication of just how twisted and warped my mind is?

Is the fact that i dont consider martyrs to be a horror an indication of just how twisted and warped my mind is? could be... or merely a difference of opinion re: what constitutes "horror".

Mysterious Skinthought this a very good film, well written/directed/photographed/acted/ throughout. sensitive subject matter presented smartly & handled w/compassion, especially for the very young actors. the story unfolds w/o judgement until we're left at the end, looking back on the effects on the characters. also, good work by the supporting actors, who prove that there's no such thing as a "minor" character.

9a fairly o.k. film, interesting to look at but not much in the way of storytelling. the plot, such as it is, takes awhile to get rolling and has some clunks & thunks. the characters lack adequate fleshing out, so to speak. a bit tired of cgi but for objects/buildings/machinery seems a good fit. the short, original feature is included on dvd and in some ways is the better of the two.

Moonsimply an excellent film. it is by turns suspenseful, amusing, mysterious, thought-provoking, and moving. i was pleasantly surprised by how this movie exceeded my expectations. good work all around: writing, directing, acting (Kevin Spacey gives his best performance since L.A. Confidential/ Se7en). a genuine science fiction film; fans of the genre, and most others, won't be disappointed (and if you are a fan, you'll be reminded of previous great films).

aka Timecrimesthis was a very interesting thriller, although it was a bit difficult for me to follow a main character who starts as a shlub, emerges as a jerk, and then becomes something much worse. also, seems a waste of a time travel concept, but i suppose such does not always require tinkering w/the cosmic order. having said all that, i'd still consider this film worth a look. it is suspenseful and did keep me hanging on to see what would happen next and how it would all end.

Cronicas You probably know that I just simply adore John Leguizamo and he is in this one. I loved it. It's a movie about a criminal but it's also about how people try to manipulate things and also how they manage to justify things.

Linda, what's your handle on the Keene forums?
Kevin, you ripped the Moon review right out of my mouth. Suspenseful and, I thought, supremely acted.

We've produced a couple more shorts for timed contests since I last posted. Again, these are shorts created from random elements we're given in the opening minutes of the contest; we then have a tiny bit of time (48 hours, 72 hours, four days) to write, cast, plan, shoot, edit and print a short. If there's anyone left to watch, I'd appreciate the usual honest feedback: "Dream Job" -- a short documentary created in four days for the International Doc Challenge. Genre was art and theme was "dreams and/or nightmares." www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnySIps7-Sk"Stones" -- a short fantasy thrill-ride made two weekends ago for the 48 Hour Film Project. Genre was fantasy, and we had to include the following: 1) line of dialogue, "All you need is one of these," 2) prop, cellphone; 3) character: sam or sarah carpenter, ticket seller. vimeo.com/14276398
