I don't know what it really deals with, but whatever it is, it looks killer! How many other movies has Kelly flimed? I think so far its just DD and a short film he made in college thats pretty much impossible to find....at least I think thats what it was

Wow, by the quality or the interest I find in those movies, I would of thought that his work is apt of a experienced director. I admire him.

I really wish it was....because then we'd have more of his stuff to watch....I think he was 26 when he made DD so you cant really expect him to come out with too much in that timeframe

I was having a guess that he might be some 20some but I was not sure. I hope he does other great movies during his carrer. The worst case scenario would him being a type of "one hit wonder" with DD.

If you read more aobut Southland Tales I think youll find he's still very much into taking risks in his movies and straying from what everyone else is making

It'll be a Political/Comedy/Musical/Sci Fi/Drama movie I think....and you have to admire the guy for having the balls to try to pull that off

Shoot, that must be really hard. But he probably just sees it as a challenge to overcome. Typical of his style.

Name: Southland Tales
Release Date: July 2005
There simply aren’t enough comedy/musical/suspense/thrillers out there these days. Never fear, though. Donnie Darko writer/director Richard Kelly has come along to save the day, as Southland tales will combine elements from all of those tales for a combination that looks to be as trippy as the malevolent and demonic bunny-rabbit Frank.
The story will take place in a Los Angeles of the very near future. Events will occur over the course of a three-day heat wave in 2008’s July 4th holiday weekend. The film will feature singing, dancing and dream sequences, with Moby in talks to work on some of the original music.
A huge array of performers are currently in talks to star in the film, including Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Lee, Janeane Garofalo, Tim Blake Nelson, Ali Larter, Kevin Smith and Amy Poehler.
After the cult success of Donnie Darko, Southland Tales looks to gain an even greater audience for Kelly’s quirky style. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
