So to my knowledge there is NO "official" soundtrack/score to Donnie Darko. Every song in the movie (which turns out to be the score) is 'officially' NOT on cd. But why is there a released soundtrack to the movie if there technichally is no score out? To make it less confusing:
1) What is the difference between score and soundtrack? 2) What is on the acclaimed released Soundtrack?

the score is all the musical arrangements in a film. the soundtrack is all the popular, or mainstream songs in a film.
there used to be only a score available for DD, however with the new release of the DC there is a two disc score/soundtrack available.
we have a thread or two which lists the tracks on these if you are interested. we try to encourage using the search feature before posting new threads, as many of ideas have been brought up countless times here and we are in the process of cleaning the boards. if you haven't, i suggest checking out the new members board.
