I hate when Darko-driven posts get lost in a forum-member love fest.
Although, I do like our love fests, so I guess it's a fair trade.

I bearly heared the other day the original track of "Mad World" and it was soo weired... I bearly recognized it.. I definatly prefer the new version by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules...

It's a lot more 'pop-y' - almost twice the tempo of the Gary Jules version. I agree it's not as haunting as the new one, but as a bit of pop it works pretty well.

It's weired that lyrics such as those of Mad World were to be accomponied by such a rythem.. I don't know it just seem oxymoronical, the original Mad world song is all "Pop-ish" and the lyrics are kinda obscure and Meloncholycal... very mellow lyrics for such a pop song...

Even if it was nursery-rimish, those words are not words belonging to a nursery rhyme.. Imagine telling a kid (The dreams in which I am dying are the best I've ever had) They are going to be like "Mommy, daddy... What is dying? Why do you wanna die mommy??"

Have you never sung 'Rring around the roses' ? It's all about the Black Death (plague). 'Oranges and Lemons' = execution.
Plenty of nursery rhymes are very dark indeed.

But at least the meaning of those are hiden or kinda subconcious subliminal messeges. Mad world is right out straighforward.
I heared something about little red riding hood trully being about a girl loosing her virginity on the road to "womanhood"...
And the "The Twelve Days of Christmas" each of the "gifts" represent something differnt in the Catholic religion. It was appearently designed to teach little kids during times in which there was heavy religious suppression in England. Example: "Two turtle doves' = the two books of the bible (the old testament and the new testament)

No, we are born pure and innocent.... It is the adults with those subliminal demonic songs that corrupts the pureness of young.
