What's the difference bitween Donnie Darko and Donnie Darko : Director's Cut ? essentially, the Director's Cut has more "info.", especially concerning the Philosophy Of Time Travel, which is revealed in pages on the screen, and the conflict between the Primary Universe and the Tangent. there are more scenes as well, from brief clips which suggest a certain, specific viewpoint, to extended bits of character interaction (the Holmes Osborne/Jake Gyllenhaal father/son chat is one of the best; wish it had been included in the original!). the story is pretty much the same in both versions except the original (aka the Theatrical Release) is more ambiguous than the Director's Cut (DC), as far as the forces at work (i.e. is Donnie crazy? haunted? manipulated by beings from another dimension of space/time? dreaming? etc.). if you can, check out both and see what differences matter most to YOU. welcome to the boards, andremartins!
