Hello! I'm a middle-aged man living in a trailer in a TINY little white-trash town in Tennessee. I like Darko very much, & think Frank is a particularly cool, creepy character.

Hi my name is Keith and i'm from the uk. After watching DD now twice i seem addicted to the concept that the film depicts and must leave my imprint on this site! First thing first the film isn't about time travel in general, but it does dominently feature though out the entire film. The engine that falls off the plane is the same one that fell at the begining of the film. The engine is the time machine, that Donnie Darko creates, that causes time to go backwards and hence gives him the chance to rewrite events. Regards Frank he a messnger from the future sent to influence Donnie in changing events in the current time scale, his intentions are good. In flooding the school Donnie meets Gretchen and by burning the house down brings attention to a pedofile, that no one knew existed! By Donnie dieing at the end of the movie he sets everything right, he becomes a super hero! Alot of people also, have missed out on the fear and love thing that is featured in the film too. Could this be good and bad? after all his school teacher says to his mother that every one decides on the path they walk in life good or bad. I also think the film is depicted through two time zones the current time scale and the future too. Why does grandma death check for mail every day? Cos she is waiting for a letter from Donnie Darko. It is also interesting at the end of the movie when mad world is being played. When you see Frank drawing pictures of the rabbit. Maybe he was also visited by someone wearing a rabbit costume from another time scale? maybe even Donnie? what ya think? Hey please feel free to replie!! this is only my concept on the film.

Hello everyone, I've been new for just less then a week but never got around to posting in this thread.
Well my name is Alec and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am 18 years old and in my last year (hopefully) of High School. I plan to move to Vancouver to pursue some sort of career in the entertainment industry after I graduate. I am a film fanatic and have already taken courses for it at school. I will be doing another course next semester. My favourite movie is Donnie Darko, which is the reason I'm here.
My biggest interests besides film is philosophy, anthropology, sociology, psychology and all that other abstract thought stuff. One of my life goals is the pursuit of as much knowledge and wisdom as possible. I also love helping people with personal problems they have and seem to be quite good at it, which makes me also look towards a possible career in therapy in my future.
I am also an active participant in martial arts. I have studied Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do and the Russian Martial Art simply known as The System or Systema (Russian pronunciation). I have been doing martial arts for about 7 years and am currently training in Shaolin Kung Fu and Jeet Kune Do. Ironically I am one of the most peaceful people you could meet, which is a common characteristic among many martial artists.
So that's pretty much it.
