Donnie Darko has really changed my life. It's made me look at the world really differently. I feel like I'm just like Donnie...I really am, and I don't think that's just wishful thinking. I can just really relate to him and I can understand how he's feeling and the things he goes through.
But yeah, this movie has just made me realize that everything happens for a reason, and even if it doesn't seem right at the time, everything will be okay. I still worry about things, I can't help it, who doesn't.
It's also made me think of what difference do I make to the people I know, to the world. How would things be different if I were to die now or if I never existed at all? How would my family's life be different? My friends' lives? All the people I will ever meet? What impact do I have? And it makes me think about whether I have caused more good or bad and just how different things would be if I were gone.
I don't know I probably sound like a loser but yep that's how I feel. Or at least all I'm able to put into words efficiently.

I am happy to see that this movie has had a great impact on others, as for me, yes it did open new doors (somewhat) new percpectives and is I greatly enjoy analyzing it, but I don't think it had as a super-major impact in my life. I mean it is there and it does change perspectives a bit, but it wasn't that great of a catastrophic event. But I can see how many people's lives can be changed by the movie, because it is indeed very touching and can hit really close to home at times.

I agree with your comment Gretch.. I don't know if it is just me imagining things, but I have a feeling that greedy's comments are making less sense each day.

Thast the thing though, there isnt a definite answer to this film, it is truely, completely open to interpretation, which is one of the reasons i love it so much

I have to agree with you. I think many people can relate to Donnie and who he is. But its those few who can really empathize with him.
This movie also made me look at life differently. I don't consider myself a die hard fan or anything but I lie awake at night just thinking about Donnie Darko and sometimes expecting a six foot tall bunny rabbit to appear in my bedroom. lol. ;D hahhah.
Sometimes I'm afraid to tell people, mainly guys that I like Donnie Darko because well they'll think i'm weird. Well I'm not scared to tell them I like the movie but how it has affected me so much.
Its funny too because I keep promising myself that I won't watch the movie again because then I'll just get more crazier but can't help it. I break out the DVD and just watch it over and over. and i admit that I still don't understand. Well meaning that I have no conclusive answer for it. I think that is what makes this film so great.
