because he has a sleeping disorder. he sleep walks basically which is why it isnt a shock when they realize he is missing. regardless he wouldve shown up there.

why the golf course though and why was it cunningham that foud him perhaps the golf course is symbolic of a transfer in a TU via and portal think about it as the golf being the LR and the hole obviously being a portal and the flag being a artifact
any thoughts

When sleepwalking you are in a highly suggestable state - it's true that lef to his own devices he could have gone anywhere, but Frank lead him to the golf course, specifically to run into JC.

its all about paths and the intersection of time. frank lead donnie to jim to establish a realtionship with one another, a sort of introduction i suppose. frank knew of the importance and significance of the meeting of donnie and jim. if frank had not led donnie to the golf course and donnie did not wake up to meet jim at such a vunerable time, do you think donnie would have had such a dislike towards jim?
