Frank was a messenger. He was there to help Donnie in the future. He was there to help his own love, Gretchen, survive the apocalyptic end.

Frank led Donnie to the point where Gretchen died. Donnie's only choice was to get involved in time travel. Frank led him to getting into time travel.

Frank also saved Donnie when the jet engine fell for the first time. He led Donnie to tell him the world will end.

Donnie doesn't care if the world ends. He only cares about Gretchen.

And this is where he saves her when getting into time travel. The car at the end he got in helped him into saving Gretchen and her memory is gone. Everything of Donnie is gone in her.

Donnie went back into time.... 28 days before everything all happened.

And I am not sure if he knew or not that he did. The jet engine fell for a second time.

i personally..think that is dead wrong seeing as how frank is going out with elizabeth..

also the part about all gretchen's memories about donnie being "erased"....i think that is also wrong because did u notice how when the boy asked her if she knew donnie at the end, she hesitated and THEN said no...also when she waved to donnie's mother..

if u read TPOTT...it says (something like) that people close to living reciever will remember what happened in the TU after is is destroyed..

correct me if im wrong tho...
