Just when I almost forgot about DD (well, not completely, I can't look up at the clouds sometimes without thinking about the ending). I'm there doing my publicity thing trying to find who's run our press release about a Thai porno when I stumble on this over at Xfanz.com

I'll be surprised if it's not showing up on the Buffy boards too
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Richard Kelly, the quirky writer-director behind the cult hit Donnie Darko, has populated his latest movie, Southland Tales, with a pair of fictional characters from the adult industry.
"Southland Tales is basically a science-fiction fantasy about the near future," Kelly, 31, told MTV.com. "It's about what would happen to our country, potentially, if we were hit with another major terrorist attack. And it's trying to use comedy to project a political fantasy in the near future. The film is trying to engage young people to talk about alternative fuel, homeland security, the Patriot Act, foreign policy, the tabloid culture and a lot of other important issues."
The movie also features Nora Dunn (The Last Supper) as an adult film director and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) as an adult star -- a role that apparently figures heavily into the convoluted story.
"One of the most pivotal [characters] is Krysta Now, a porn star played by Sarah Michelle Gellar," Kelly said. "She is the femme fatale and the mysterious broker of this massive conspiracy involving an alternative-fuel corporation [and] a senator running for vice president."
Although Gellar won't show any skin for her role, she approves of Kelly's casting.
"When you look at me you just think -- porn star," she told the UK Sun. "It’s like a calling, really."
