In the special features with extra scenes and the director talking he says that frank is a divine intervention.

First of all, since when was God a swear word? Not since I can remember... Anyway, in the deleted scenes on the special features with director commentary, he says in one of them that frank is a divine intervention.

Why would a divine intervention show up in the form of Frank (the kid, not the bunny?) Why something else instead of the kid that runs down his girl? Was Frank Donnie's sister's boyfriend ya think?
Thanks

Hey all... No, I wasn't being sarcastic, I have only just watched DD two days ago, and only once so far. I am still VERY new to the whole thing. I wasn't for sure if Frank was her BF or not. Thanks. The rest of the post, I was wondering if Frank were a divine intervention, why would God choose FRANK? He could have sent a different person, an angel, you know? Something or someone besides the guy that ran over Donnie's girlfriend. I was trying to figure out why FRANK was the one to show up. Because of what Donnie did to him?
Thanks KRC

As far as the spelling of "God" as "G-D," if I'm not mistaken this comes from ancient Hebrew practice, possibly carried over into medieval times, that the name of the Supreme Being is sacred and not to be spelled in its entirety. Hebrew people in times past (and I would assume Orthodox Jewish people today) spell "Yahweh," the prime name of God, as "YHWH," with no vowels. Peace.

Frank is not God, he is the MANIPULATED Dead. God is making Frank do these things, so that Donnie can realize what he needs to do. And as for the spelling of G-D, that Hebrew thing may be true, but I don't like spelling it like it's a bad word. Oh, well. Just my opinion.

LovelyFear, I agree on both points. Frank is not God, and no, I spell "God" with all letters as well. I was just trying to clear up the questions. Peace out.

I still don't think Frank is god but maybe more sent by god.
However, this is interesting about the book "IT" and Pennywise being a form of the devil. With his friend being a clown and Frank as a Rabbit...
According to Christianity, The Hare and the Rabbit were the most fertile animals known and they served as symbols of the new life. Hints, the Easter Bunny.

agree agree agree... i have a hard time believing the theory that frank IS god. like lovely said, he is the MD, and so therefore he is a messenger of god. but not god himself.

I think that in some orthodox Jew communities, it is forbidden to write holy names down. Such as God and Jesus. They would write it down as G*D or J@sus or mispell something or you know.

Perhaps....but is Richard Kelly or anyone in the movie an orthodox jew? Maybe youre on the right track but perhaps it has to do with the seperation of church and state and.....we're reading too much into this....

I was talking about the guy who started this thread he spelled God G-d or something like that.
Unless I did'nt catch up to what this forum was about and I did a deadly mistake along the way.
