I'm basing my A2 media cousrework on Donnie Darko and am doing some research to help me. I was wondering if everyone could tell me what they think of the treatment of schizophrenia and how accurate it is? thanx! ;D

Dude, how is it related to the movie? I mean, I'd think of what you asked, but is it supposed to be related to Donny? Sasha F.

by the way, I think many people in this forum need schizofrenia treatment. Because they believe in Donny Darko and time travel. Do you believe in time travel? Check your brains, man. I hope you are not infected. Time travel is impossible, right? You as a schooled man, please explain to this forum people that it's just a fiction story.

But in theory time travel is possible and we travel through time everyday and every second......even thought DD is a fictional story it still has a lot of interesting points and themes.....and believing in time travel doesnt make you stupid or infected or whatever you said

I agree with that sasha is just angry because he can't come up with a good argument and is trying to verify his ignorance with "witty" comebacks like you're stupid or "you all need treatment" Grow up loser and read a book or two

Hey Pirate man, you just called me looser and other names, right? Well first of all, I read books. By the way, I read more books in a foreign languages then you ever did, I bet. So I don't think my previous post gives you a right to call me looser. As for time travel, this is a similar issue to the perpetum mobile. Well, everyone talks about it and makes theories, but no one ever made anything quite close to it. The same with time travel. People will always talk about it... you know why? Because they want to change their past and know their future. This is because of their fear and because of feeling weak, and feeling guilty. Why don't we let it go and not try to change our past, but rather make our history today? And as for the end of the world, it is near. So near then soon you will be able to smell it and touch it. The world as you know it will be no more. And time travel won't help. No one will escape. Because there is no escape other then the only one. Sasha F.

Well, isn't the anger seething off this thread...
There was no need to blow up in everybody's faces, Sasha F. Especially sammyj's. She was simply inquiring about a question she had. She said she was doing her coursework on Donnie Darko: schizophrenia happens to be an element of the movie. There's the relation you requested. Everyone believed Donnie was schizophrenic and were giving him treaments for it.
As for your issue with the 'Time-travel believers', everyone has their own opinion. Just as you believe the world is going to end as we know it, chaos will rein, machines will take over, the sky will shower hell, ect. It's what you think will be. But time-travel could be considered a paradox, actually. (DEF: 'a statement that seems contrary to common sense and yet is perhaps true') Might be true. Might not be. Depends on how hard you want to think about it.
