Either I didnt catch that scene or I forgot it but I think it could have something to do with the bathroom scene with Seth or it could be foreshadowing for the cellar door incident....or both

Right, that's where Seth's "knife" cut him in the bathroom scene. It is in the director's cut and the original release. You can see it when Donnie bends down, picks up Cunniham's wallet and then looks back at the house. #nosmileys

You know I watched the directors cut again last night and it couldn't have been that because after the scene where Gretchen says "Why is your neck bleeding", it's the scene where Donnie wants to kiss her and he says "We've been going out for two weeks", so unless it was some kind of delayed bleeding that theory doesn't work out lol.

Whether it is delayed bleeding or discontinuity problems within the shooting schedule of the movie, there is a mark on the left side of his neck as I remember.
