this started a while ago and i'm not sure you'll see this but the tangent universe is created when a rip in space time occurs and something from the primary universe falls into it.
these rips can happen for pretty much no reason, when and wherever. it just... happens.

Listen to everybody above. Read the Philosophy of time travel. A tangent Universe happens anywhen the barrier of the Primary Univerese and the 4th dimension of time is broken. a.k.a. when anything is sent to the future or to the past.
