Based on the book by Chuck Palahniuk I haven't seen it but I am sure that I will... It was a crazy read and I think it will be so interesting to see how they have portrayed it on the big screen. I heard it opens in the UK on November 21st.

I need to go see it... I wish they would make a film out of Lullaby... that's my favorite...

You know, I have never actually read anything by Palahniuk, but I just got finished reading "Guts" from "Haunted", and I have to say I'm excited to start. I loved how dark it got and how it managed to stay consistently humorous. That'll be the first book I'll pick up, but what else should a first-time reader of his check out? The obvious choice is Fight Club, but I didn't really care for the movie as much as others did. It was good, but I wasn't crazy about it. Is Choke a good choice?

Twitch, my take is that Choke is the philosophic handbook for all men 25 to 40 alive today. So for relevance to audience, it's a great start.
If you wanted to go another direction, I'd finish Haunted (a delight!), then read either Lullaby (great choice, Katie) or my personal favorite, Invisible Monsters.

Oh, and -- came across this list of suggested reading by Chuck: I'd already read Crooked Little Vein and House of Leaves before seeing this. chuckpalahniuk.com/books.php

Thanks guys. I checked out the synopsis of both Lullaby and Invisible Monsters and found Invisible Monsters to be more my style. At least for now.
Right now I'm working my way through Haunted. I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and though unfortunately none of the stories have had the impact of Guts, there is some compelling material. The overarching storyline is also quite good, and while the characters are rather unrealistic caricatures, they are made more interesting for that fact. Like twisted cartoons.

Finished Haunted. It had some rough edges, faultered in a few areas if you asked me, but overall there were enough good stories to justify the read.
