I am on pins and needles as I await Barack's speech tonight!
I have a real good feeling about this election... No matter what...people are caring more than they ever did... I guess that's pretty darn important...

FALCOM BUMP! (only gamers are gonna get that one)
Well, Barack Obama has, based on CNN Projections, been elected the 44th president of the United States, and not by a small margin. Thoughts? I must say, I'm pretty excited.

amazing.
we may be world leaders in a new sense: perhaps now people of other nations will look more closely within their borders & their consciences at their own prejudices/injustices/inequalities and take some steps after us.
across our nation, the spontaneous celebrations (people literally dancing in the streets) i think stem in part from a cathartic joy, that so much has been shed and resolved within this one action.
i think we are possibly beginning to become the America we promised we'd be, our deeds and works aligning w/our rhetoric and lofty ideals.

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dreams of our fathers is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer."
I think that sums it up. It's time to become America again. It's time to stop turning our heads in shame trying to pretend that when our values and our spirit are attacked by foreign people made enemies by the last 8 years, they are mistaken or misguided. It's time to wash away our image as the Paris Hilton of the world, only wealthy and significant because of those that have come before us and utterly insignificant as we now stand. The rest of the world has shown that they are ready to welcome the US back into the fold, ready to give us an opportunity to make ourselves a beacon of freedom. We just can't screw it up.

What is your problem with Biden exactly? I'm not real excited about him, but he seems alright. Palin on the other hand, well, I shouldn't say anything too bad about her, because the news media tells me that would be misogyny, but let's just say that I really, really hope that they don't let her out of Alaska again anytime soon.

That just makes him tricksy. we need someone slippery in the VP position. Cheney could legally prove he didn't exist one week and was god the next. Biden can only dream of that level of skill.

Dammit, I knew we had a Hussein in the White House, but a Bin Laden as well?! And once they take office, Bush won't be around to protect us anymore!
