Ok. I dont know if this is anywhere already [sorry if it is].. But I was wondering, how does donnie get back in time.. i always thought it was the bullet, but it cant be, because he's still in the present time after that. Its not like the engine could hit TWICE, could it? Otherwise all that happened during the movie would have happened, and Gretchen would have remembered him.. I tried to find the answer by surfing the boards, but i didnt seem to find it.. So can anyone clear it up for me?

I'll be happy to share my thoughts, but I'm unclear about your question. What bullet do you mean?
I'll answer generally: many on this board believe Donnie never travels in time, but rather leaves the world we know, which we call the Primary Universe, experiences a separate reality called the Tangent Universe, then returns to the Primary Universe at essentially the same moment he left it.
What many of us believe is that Donnie sends a plane engine from the future of the TU to the past of the PU, making it (the engine) the only thing that time travels in the movie (well, and Frank ... but that's another story.)

The bullet i meant, would be when donnie shoots frank in the eye after he hits gretchen.. And I suppose you could be right there,.. if he sends it back, then he would cease to exist and wouldnt HAVE to go back in time again, would he?

I tried to find the answer. So can anyone clear it up for me? So, does what I posted answer your question or give you something more to think about?
