and btw the round explains where did the first engine come too, i wasn't really able to understand that but i read a novel include some sufi things which says life is whole round and then i thought that was probably fits to donnie darko, well if you see something wrong with this please say cause i watched the film only 3 times and dont have a good memory.
and i agree this is the greatest movie ever. It has so philosopy in it!

i thought the ending was basically donnie went back in time to save gretchens life and other people as a superhero as it is and it shows like a flashback of what wud have been because he chose to kill himself.

Well...its good to have people interpretting it in there own way, but for any help at all on getting abit of a better understanding on it you should check out Stainless Steel Rat...on google.
On that site, the dude has a section for Donnie Darko, his FAQ is awesome, it helps.

perhaps it's just a film and an intertaing one to discuss i appreciate the info but i prefer readin ideas and not other people FAQ's but i'm sure many will check it out

Of course, I'm just putting it out there dude.
Its fun to read any type of interpretations I find, but the FAQ is there for people that are totally lost or need some sort of idea of what happens, it can help to also remind you of any things you forget about in the plot..
