I'm a little disheartened by the shortcuts people take -- and the inconsiderateness with which they take them. All of the songs are listed here and will be until the site is taken down. If it's too much to ask for people to head to Amazon and order the director's cut soundtrack, it can't be too much to ask that they take the song listings from here and use them in the "search" field of the filesharing program of their choice, can it? Can it?
Apparently it can. Omni was kind enough once, solely in the interest of contributing to the community, to package and upload both the pop songs and the score from Donnie Darko, That he even did it once was nice and wholly unnecessary. And then, though the songs are all listed here, people have the gall to swing in from nowhere and ask Omni to AGAIN put it all together, zip it and email it to them? Why don't you just ask him to put on a bunny suit and traipse up to your doorstep with the soundtrack in shiny new wrapper?
Show a little initiative, people. You're killing my faith in humanity ...

Hey Providence, did you change your morals and approval of people posting links to pirated software. See below for your message to me. Please don't be a preacher and a dic at the same time.
In the interest of decorum, I'd like to point out that no one in this forum approves of or would willingly participate in violation of copyright or intellectual property rights, particularly in regard to music related to Donnie Darko. So if that link leads to pirated music, it's best that you delete it. (posted by ProvidencePortal)

Hey Providence, did you change your morals and approval of people posting links to pirated software. Not a bit (which is why I included the Amazon reference above), but I'm realistic. I recognize that people download music, though as fans they would be better served to financially support the product ... and in the context of knowing that, I'm just stunned that people are apparently even lazier or cheaper than that, to the point that they would ask someone else to pirate, copy, package and deliver it FOR them. Wow, forget stealing -- that level of laziness should be criminal. I am glad that my message about piracy all that time ago stuck with you. But if you've been biding your time, lying in wait for the perfect moment to pounce in retort, I'm sad to say this was not it. While there are people being dicks in this thread -- those bugging Omni to be their errand boy, for example; you may guess at the other -- I'm not one of them. edit: deleted extra word

Lying in wait? C'mon Sally, throw me a bone. I have no problem with this thread and especially no problem with the people asking for the files....just look at what the heading says. duh! The request included please and thanks, and you shoot him down? R U a small man Providence....Napoleon complex maybe...hmmmm Thus brings us to my post directed toward you. Don't be a hypocrite and tell me one thing then justify it for someone else. My statement stands, you're still a dic, and a biggy small one at that.
Sorry for jacking your thread Omni and you probably don't appreciate my words for your buddy. He's just not close enough to bitch slap.
C-YA ProvidencePort a-hole hey, now that's funny.

*Laughing*
I'm supposed to worry about short jokes from a guy so concerned with height he chose "Tallman" as his board ID? Hilarious, not insulting.
Face it: you didn't respond when I posted about piracy directly to you. Instead, you waited -- how long? months? -- to come back out of hiding and take a snipe. Either you had something to say then but for whatever reason squelched it (maybe you realized how incredibly stupid responding with "hey, I'll pirate whenever I want, damn it!" was going to sound, though I suspect that's too much credit to you), or you didn't understand the words I used then until just now. Either way, that's small behavior -- equally as small as puffing yourself up with threatened violence on the Internet.
But, again, thanks for showing how deeply my words affected you all that time ago. Very sweet.

i love how people just lurk around looking for conflict, who aren't even making contributions to the board.
