I just watched The Box and I noticed the "Appendix A & B" pictures from "The Philosophy of Time Travel" flashing by as the plot was coming to an end. The movie The Box did confuse me & I'm wondering if it has the same hidden meanings as Donnie Darko? The movie did seem to use the same theory of "manipulated" beings all working towards a manipulated destiny. The usage of the water and the religious undertones? They are made by the same director so does anyone think Richard Kelly is trying to send the same message repeatedly through his movies?

^yes, i noticed that too: the images from POTT. good points about the similarities. he took a short story and wrote a feature-length screenplay; there must have been some opportunities for him to fill in with his own ideas... what would that "same message" be? that there are larger, unseen forces at work driving human destiny, and certain "gifted" individuals are in place to guide events toward that end...?
