i have seen a lot more movies than most of you have seen previews for but i aint addicted to one movie like you guys. hey i'm all for liking a movie such as donnie darko but i don't go too attached to it. this was a great movie no doubt but stop looking at the past and move on. check out eternal sunshine of the dangerous mind or 12 monkeys, hell try Being john malcovich (sp) or vanilla sky.

You've seen more movies than I've seen previews I highly doubt that some how and I've seen every film you listed eons ago, so what have you proven exactly. We discuss the movie because of it's intricate depth, all of your aforementioned movies were lucid to me after one watch, Donnie Darko is something else. Perhaps you should try signing up to www.iwanttobethecenterofattention.com

check out eternal sunshine of the dangerous mind Ooh -- that sounds like a really cool movie. Although, the title is reminiscent of a movie I've seen a few times ... written by Charlie Kaufman, starring Jim Carrey ... called Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But maybe that was one of the previews I watched. Fucking jerkoff.

Move on? We have to like the newest stuff that comes out? God help the people that are fans of really classic movies then.....and I don't really think seeing a movie 10-20 times over a couple years time is really obsessive....500 times maybe...but not 20

we should stop looking at the past and move on?...
but... aren't all those movies you listed... from the past?
12 monkeys is YEARS AND YEARS old.
and believe me, i speak for the group as saying i'm sure we've all seen those movies YEARS ago.
like omni says, all of the movies you listed also are very simple. the plot is easily understood, and no extra thought is required to understand the film... unlike donnie darko.
if you actually READ the board, you would find that we are not obsessed.
fucking moron. you don't even know what films you are talking about... eternal sunshine of the dangerous mind my ASS.
try learning a little grammar while you're at it, "ain't" is NOT a word.

tell me if i'm wrong but the reason you guys love donnie darko is because you can't understand the plot easily. ok, i'm fine with that. All i'm saying is expand your point of view on other movies. Adaptation was Cage's best performance, vanilla sky was kinda like the Matrix with no action, fear and loathing in las vegas shows us a true message behind all the drugs and what not. some of you are looking so deep into the DD that your making up your own story behind the true message.
by the way have anybody else seen requiem for a dream, you guys might like that movie.

again... if you actually READ the forum...
you'd see that we have an entire thread about 5 pages in length about OTHER GOOD MOVIES WE LIKE.
we do not only watch donnie darko.
many of us are avid film buffs, and enjoy a plethera of genres apart from DD.
you are wrong.
the reason we like DD so much is that it's not DEFINITE. not that WE can't understand it.
the meaning to DD is OPEN to your own interpretation. while there are some absolute truths to it, multiple theories are plausible here. it's not just a "this is how it is" movie.
THAT is why we like it.
why don't you read around before you fucking generalize all of us.

A great deal of the people here are movie fans. The point is THIS IS A DONNIE DARKO FORUM - if we want to talk about Adaptation we go to an Adaptation forum, but while here the topics will be predominantly about Donnie Darko. After all, you don't go to a botany forum to duscuss nuclear fission, do you?
If you want to start discussion on other movies there is a thread in the General section of the board where you can do so, but coming here and calling everyone narrowminded and obsessive will not earn you friends.
Alternatively you could check out the IMDb forums. There are hundreds of trolls there, so I'm sure you'd be in good company.

yes i do suppose this is not the forum to express my views or reviews on another movies. i guess the point i was just trying to make was that their are other good movies out there.
thx, and hopefully we will see more movies such as donnie darko.

Yes there are a lot of very good movies out there, and im sure everyone here enjoys watching films of all different genres. Its jsut this is a Donnie Darko site, so of course the main point of discussion will be DD
And its not like all everyone does is watch DD all day, and does nothing else.
Its a brilliant film, and this is place were like minded people can discuss things they enjoy.

Yes I've seen Requiem 4 A Dream 4 years ago, Pi too. I've seen every film you listed, this isn't Discuss Movies Fansite it's Donnie Darko Fansite, I see you're still missing the point like a broken pencil.
