Does the DD DVD contain all the scenes etc. that are in the director's cut? Is there going to be a special director's cut DVD? I haven't seen it, I've only seen what's on the VHS... I knew I should have sprung for the DVD at the rental place...
So would it be worth it to buy the DVD? Or is there a new one perhaps coming?

the directors cut has new scenes and new music not present in the DVD....if youre a huge fan you might want go get the old version and the new one if it comes out on DVD....otherwise get one or the other

Not looking for number of posts. Just got a reply from NewMarket productions regarding when they will release a DC cut of DD stateside: Message reads as follows:
I am sorry but while there are plans to release the DIRECTOR'S CUT region 1 DVD at some point down the line, we still do not have an exact release date to announce. That DVD is currently in production.
Thanks for your interest in the film
ALso noted elsewhere, should you decide to purchase the region 2 version, there is a program that will allow you to watch region 2 videos in region 1 without much trouble.
