Hey. I'm new here, and I've got to go soon, but I'll be back tomorrow to start discussing the movie like normal folk. And my user name is supposed to have a capital 'A' in it. Really. I've just finished a 60-page novelization of Donnie Darko and am currently taking the site for a test spin. If ya wanna help me out, you can go read it here: www.angelfire.com/film2/animagess/So! Feedback would be nice... if you actually have the time to read this thing. If not, just tell me if any of the links are broken, blah blah blah. If you do read, I hope you enjoy it and tell your friends. Hopefully it makes you think a little. I had a lot of fun writing it... Okay, Im done shamelessly plugging.

had a skim. i like your style. your environmental elements are vivid and real-feeling. and it struck me as interesting to see the novelization written in past tense, rather than present. added a weight I wouldn't have expected.

I liked the disclaimer "I’m not a psychotic fan of Donnie Darko like some people are. I really liked the movie, and I own it, but my waking life isn’t consumed by it". Yeah that explains why you re-wrote the film in your own way.

no one said "yo" in the late 80's - fault 1 Clearly you don't listen to hip-hop music. Example... "Like a gambler in Vegas, I go for broke/ To make a long story short, yo I ain’t no joke" - Big Daddy Kane (1988)

You are immediately a better person for having done this (and for having seen this movie). I really was impressed, I must say. You are an excellent writer. To be honest, I was a bit put-off at first because some of the dialogue was not directly quoted, but all-in-all, it was an impressive work. Congratulations and good luck in your future in writing.
