Hello 2gether, Perhaps some of you know the music title from scene where Donnie Darko torch down the house from Jim Cunningham. For me it seems to be a classical piece. First I thought it was composed by Giulio Caccini, but did'nt find any suitable track at amazon . Thx in advance to you Mister T

I believe you're referring to 'Ave Maria'. I know for a fact that is what is playing when Donnie is convinced by Frank in the theatre to burn down the house. I can't recall if it carried over to the following scene where he actually does the deed.
The version you hear is on the soundtrack. I liked it very much and have the same version as the movie.

Hello Jellric thanks for your reply. I think the "Ave Maria" (Giulio Caccini) is from the scene with dancing Cherita Chen as elf. Moreover I did'nt have the "Ave Maria" part on my OST cd. I looked at amazon.com and did'nt find an extended version from the DD score. However I hope for further hints about the music title from the portal scene in the cinema Cheers MisterT

The scene with Cherita dancing is "Autumn Angel" which is the piece she's performing to. Then the dance scene with "Notorious" by Duran Duran, which then fades into a piece of the original score, when Donnie is burning down Cunningham's house, if I'm not mistaken.

yeah- ave maria is the song when donnie, frank, and gretchen are in the movie theater- I dled it from kazaa, but i can't find the song that cherita is performing too. Any help would be appreciated. I know it's called autumn angel, or at least the scene is, so i'm guessing that's the song title.

Having just listened to the score, I know "Autumn Angel" isn't a part of it. I show my Western cultural ignorance by not knowing the original composer of " AA," but I'd guess that you could find it out on the net. It's no doubt a classical piece.

I bought the "soundtrack" specifically for the Ave Maria song during Donnie and Frank's dialogue. And of course the soundtrack didn't have it. Is it available on a different cd, possibly from the original artist?

Ave Maria may start the movie scene, but For Whom the Bell Tolls is the one most people mean, I think, by Seve Baker and Carmen Daye. Have the U.K. CD in front of me with it playing. Who's Seve Baker and Carmen Daye? Chen's Autum angel performance is listed as "Quito Colayco @ Tony Hertz- Show me (part 1)."
Hope that helps the Autum Angel fans.
