I don't understand why it isn't out yet, it came out in Europe in October. I just looked at the extra's and you get nothing additional.

The UK was the big market for Donnie -- there it was a mainstream success and generated a huge amount of revenue comparatively, while here it was a cult film with a small following.
I'm sure that's why the initial releases are in the UK -- that's the market most likely to be a financial success and the one where the proceeds will justify an American production run of the director's cut. I'm also certain that if our English friends hadn't made the movie a relative hit, we never, ever would have seen a director's cut in any form. The promise of profits just would not have been there ...

It has a nice following here but in all realism it wasn't the huge mainstream hit it's made out to be in America. It didn't become a commercial film to the point everybody knew what it is, you'd be suprised how many people are still sleeping on it.

Well, not a mainstream hit in the way a summer blockbuster is here in the states, but that's why I said "comparatively." Here, I had to pick up Darko completely at random from a video rental store shelf to see it ... I'd never heard of it, nor had my friends. And, though a $10-million take in England (more, probably) isn't much in the big world of by-country movie sales, it's 20 times what the movie did here in the U.S.

I didn't think it was slept on like that in America.

The DVD comes out tommorrow.
Has anyone else accidentally soiled themselves in excitement? Or is that just me?
