Hello, i have one major question that is keeping me from completely understanding this movie.

If the first plane engine crashes and opens the world to an alternate reality wich then takes Donnie through the movies script to the point where he shoots Frank in the eye. how can frank co exist as a simple trick or treater and a "prophet" from the future at the same time? wouldn't there have to be a instance when the two realities cross for example when the dead frank calls donnie out of his room right before the first engine crashes, where was the alive frank?

If frank was from the future and present at the same time wouldn't he have to travel backwards at some point in time thus already knowing donnie would choose to stay in bed when the second plane engine crashed?

During the Tears for Fears song it shows that Frank is in his room drawing the rabbit. And it is possible for Dead Frank to exist at the same time as Frank because Dead Frank travelled far enough back in time that the two universes have not split from each other yet.

And Dead Frank is in a different universe as the second plane crash so he couldn't know that Donnie would die while he was in bed. All Dead Frank knew was that the world would end if he didnt change Donnies actions causing a butterfly effect that could change any number of things, therefore not destroying the world.

Atleast that is my interpretation of it. I am probably completely wrong since I have only seen the movie a few times, but thats my opinion, oh well.

Anyone connected to the Living Receiver (Donnie) who dies within the Tangent Universe becomes the Manipulated Dead. These people can move through time freely and talk to the Living Receiver through a fourth dimensional construct. Dead Frank is like a reverse ghost who can appear before he was killed.

Only the Living Receiver can see the Manipulated Dead when they appear to them. There are a few instances in the film where Donnie is talking to Frank while other people are there but they cannot see him. If the alive version of Frank was in the room he wouldn’t see him either. The real alive version of Frank has no knowledge of his dead form.

Gretchen could have talked to Donnie in the same way as she also died in the Tangent Universe and therefore became Manipulated Dead. Frank was chosen for this role instead because Donnie had never met him. It would have been to confusing for him if he was talking to dead Gretchen at the same time as alive Gretchen.

No doubt God would have kept real Frank and Donnie apart until Donnie shoots him. Everyone in the film is being manipulated so it would be easy to separate them until that night. Donnie not knowing who Frank is when he appears makes him seem like more a prophet and helps make sure he listens to what he says.

First off if you even try to pay attention youll know that frank died and his dead body was MANIPULATED... and go back watch the movie theatre part read the movie title

oh and forgot to mention the PU was fucked up so a TU was created where he traveled in time
